New York’s Only Floating Mexican Restaurant has reopened for the season. La Barca Cantina, located on a three-story boat on Manhattan’s West Side sails short cruises multiple times per day along the Hudson River four days a week offering guests extraordinary views of the New York City skyline, making it an ideal summer experience for cocktails and dinner at sunset, and casual get-togethers with friends. The three-level boat includes an expansive outdoor top deck with a bar and table seating along with two bars.

La Barca’s menu is centered on Mexican street foods. There are tacos like Pork Cochinita Pibil made with Yucatan-style braised pork with radish, cilantro and habanero; Chile Relleno, a traditional favorite served taco-style; Lamb Barbacoa Oaxaca style, and Chicharrón en Salsa, pork rinds in tangy tomato sauce.

Other offerings include a Skirt Steak taco with fire-roasted salsa roja, onion and cilantro; North River Lobster Tacos with herb butter-poached lobster and roasted corn andromaine; and Crispy Baja-style Cod with miso-mex tartar sauce and jicama slaw. There are also shareable plates of Chaupulines (chile-lime roasted crickets), Impossible Nachos with cheese and guacamole, Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers, and Grouper Ceviche marinated with fresh lime.

La Barco also boasts the Bucket List Golden Margarita – which it calls the most luxurious margarita in the city – featuring Rey Sol Extra Añejo, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, Damiana, Yuzu and gold leaf. They also have a lengthy list of agave-based spirits, including 11 different flights.

La Barca Cantina is located at Pier 81, 41st Street and 12th Ave, New York, NY.
