Housed in a 17th Century building when the streets were cobblestone and dust was stirred up by hooves, London + Martin (6 Stone St, NYC) located in the Financial District, is bringing back the classic tavern. In fact, the name is said to date back to the tenants that occupied the location in 1912.

The centerpiece of the space is a stylish bar surrounded by comfy wrap-around booths where you can be part of the crowd or find a more intimate setting.

Diners will find a menu chock full if elevated pub grub like Mango Hot Honey Popcorn Chicken and Cheese Steak Spring Rolls. Sandwiches bring the FiDi French Dip (above) made with shaved ribeye, sauteed pepper, onions and American cheese, along with the L&M Signature Burger with smoked gouda, Manchego cheese and peach-glazed bacon.

Larger plates include Branzino with orange beurre blanc, pepita brittle and brown butter cauliflower; Steak Frites with chimichurri and fries; and Classic Fish & Chips made with Cajun spice battered haddock and tartar sauce. Pizzas also make an appearance on the menu.

Playful cocktails come with names like Bad Blood (bourbon, blood orange infused honey, cranberry bitters and fire), and Rock Beats Paper (Hendrick’s gin, rock melon, cantaloupe, mint tincture, lemon and bubbles).

A martini program prepared tableside so they arrive extra chilled, includes one with a 24K gold leaf wrapped olive garnish or choice of sidecar. In addition, a “New York Happy Meal” is also available featuring the restaurant's Original Burger made with a wagyu blend, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle that is served with fries and paired with a dirty martini.
