Mixtress Julie Reiner Opens The Saloon at Clover Club

First came Clover Club, popular neighborhood bar in Carroll Gardens. Now, co-owner and mixologist Julie Reiner is opening the Saloon at Clover Club right next door at 208 Smith Street in Brooklyn. The Saloon is an easygoing, classically-minded companion to Clover Club, and will share the same commitment to excellence with a lighthearted and communal atmosphere.

The cocktail menu includes a mix of classic cocktails ranging from mainstays to some of Reiner’s favorite lesser-known treasures like the Cognac Julep and Queen’s Park Swizzle. Clover Club and a Brooklyn Cocktail also make an appearance, along with a few Martinis including the Tuxedo, as well as an N/A Singapore Sling. Curated food options are also available, ranging from New Mexico Green Chili Dip with housemade salt & vinegar chips, Oysters, Steak Tartare Crostinis, and more.

“Clover Club has lovingly served the Carroll Gardens neighborhood for over 16 years,” said Reiner, who also operates Leyenda and Milady’s. “The Saloon is an extension of the easygoing neighborhood vibes…giddy up!”

The design is meant to evoke a 21st century rendition of a saloon with a relaxed open room, anchored by a 13-seat antique wood-carved bar, complemented by an equally long drink rail and swinging doors. Custom wallpaper also featureing a nod to cowboys and saloon culture.

Opening primarily as a private event space in July for cocktail classes and pop-ups led by Reiner, The Saloon will be open to the public for three weekends in August with a tiki-focused cocktail pop-up, Tiki Rodeo. With a custom menu of classic tiki cocktails and innovative bites by Executive Chef Sam Sherman, Tiki Rodeo will be open August 8-10, August 15-17 and August 22-24. In the fall, a slate of public events will take place, including a Ski Chalet takeover timed to the holiday season.
