Monkey Thief, a new cocktail bar in Hell's Kitchen (41 West 47 St), is already drawing attention with its bold, Asian-inspired drinks and elevated small plates. This chic spot blends creative mixology with a vibrant space inspired by the bustling night markets in Asia.

The cocktail menu also centers around the flavors of Southeast Asia. Standout drinks include "7 Long Years," a spicy margarita with a twist of sesame oil, and "Major Tom," which reimagines the flavors of Thai coconut soup in cocktail form. Other unique offerings like the Holy Trini-tini, is a riff on the "holy trinity" featuring roasted garlic, ginger, and scallions, as Monkey Thief pushes the boundaries of mixology.

Small plates perfect for sharing dominate the menu. Highlights include Ribs with spur chili BBQ sauce; Fried Chicken with cumin, sichuan peppercorn, chili served with cucumber yogurt; Dumplings filled with beef and lamb, served with a chili-scallion soy sauce; and Crispy Fried Rice with garlic, shallots, and soy with the option to add a fried egg, pork belly, or shrimp. For dessert, there's an Ice Cream Sandwich filled with saffron ice cream, dark chocolate, and pistachio and Thai Tea Basque Cheesecake.

Monkey Thief’s 60-seat bar blends urban energy with natural elements inspired by the team’s travels through Asia. Expansive windows, lush plants, and copper fixtures create a warm, inviting space, highlighted by a purple neon “Monkey Thief” sign and paper lanterns.

With its creative cocktails, flavorful bites, and welcoming vibe, Monkey Thief is destined to become one of Hell’s Kitchen’s newest hotspots.
