Brooklyn’s Fulgurances Laundromat has a new chef at the helm. Scott Murry, formerly the Chef de Cuisine at Oxalis, is the new resident chef. Look for foods influenced by Murry’s many travels to Asia and his 3 years spent alongside chef Nico Russel at Oxalis.

The Michelin Guide has added 12 new additions spread across NYC. They include Blanca led by Chef Victoria Blamey; Chef Mads Refslund’s “eco-chic” Ilis; Chef Angie Mar’s luxurious Le B; and Penny from the team behind Claud. For the complete list click here

Food & Wine Magazine has unveiled its 2024 list of “Best New Chefs.” Making the grade this year are Camari Mick and Mary Attea of The Musket Room & Raf’s in New York City.

To celebrate the arrival of Fall, The Fulton at the Seaport, will be hosting Oysters and Cocktails on October 2 featuring Island Creek Oysters, passed seafood bites, seasonal cocktails and live music for dancing, 6:30pm. Tickets are $158 per person.

Rooftop Reds will be hosting its final Wine & Chocolate Tasting at the Brooklyn Navy Yard September 21 and September 25. It will also be hosting its Harvest Dinner on September 22. This is Rooftop Reds final year at the Navy Yard. No word yet on if it plans to relocate.

An “epic” British feast will take place Sept 19 at 7pm at Platform by the James Beard Foundation with a special menu curated by Chef Andy Quinn (The Noortwyck) and Chef Ed Syzmanski (Lords & Dame). Dishes Curried Lamb Scotch Egg and Millionaires Shortbread.

La Cevicheria is reminding folks that while summer may be fading they will be open Friday, Saturday and Sundays at their Beach97th location in Rockaway through September.

Ho Foods is adding breakfast to the menu on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. It includes dishes like Scallion Pancake with Egg, and Fan Tuan, sticky rice wrapped around a double fried crueler with pickles and pork floss. There is also Taiwan Breakfast for 2.

A new restaurant influenced by Burmese and Japanese cuisine has opened in the former Top Thai space in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn at 8510 4th Ave. The menu at Burmese Harp leans Japanese with soups, noodle dishes and sushi.

Levain Bakery is celebrating National Black & White Cookie Day on September 14 with a special Black & White Chocolate Chip Cookie made with dark cocoa, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and white chocolate chunks.

Say goodbye to longtime French restaurant La Grenouille in Midtown. The restaurant announced in a posting that it will be shutting its doors permanently this week. Established in 1962, La Grenouille hosted such celebrities such as Gregory Peck, Sidney Portier and Sophia Loren.
