Tribeca’s two-Michelin-starred Jungsik has just named one of eight Superstar Restaurants Abroad by South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

Since opening in 2011, the restaurant has taken New York by storm and launched the careers of Chefs J.P. Park (Atomix and Atoboy), Eunji Lee (Lysée), and Hoyoung Kim (Jua), among others. Now helmed by Executive Chef Daeik Kim, Jungsik continues to reinvent itself, with a mission to make Korean cuisine more creative by using different techniques and ingredients, while maintaining its authenticity.

Yellowtail Kimbap

Some of Chef Kim’s dishes include Langoustine, cooked on binchotan charcoal topped with ossetra caviar, served over dongchimi and a smoked dongchimi sauce with anise oil; and Yellowtail Kimbap, a crunchy seaweed wrap stuffed with truffled rice and house-made kimchi served with Bahng-uh jang, yellowtail marinated in house made soy sauce designed to be draped over the kimbap.
