NYC’s famed Lord & Taylor Building is Set to “Blossom”

What is in store for the landmark Lord & Taylor building? The brass has been shined up. Signs on the windows says “Time to Bloom” and “What’s Blossoming?” Amazon purchased the 11-story building at 424 Fifth Avenue at West 38th Street from WeWork for a reported $1.15 billion and plans use it as its New York City headquarters for some 2,000 employees.
FRIEND OF A FARMER HEADS UPTOWN WITH SECOND NYC LOCATION
The New York Post reported that the building includes a posh indoor cafeteria, lounge, floor-to-ceiling windows with killer views, and a dog run on the rooftop. So far, no word on what the retail space on the first floor will house.
DELMONICO’S MAKES A TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO LOWER MANHATTAN
The building became available after the famed retailer filed for bankruptcy in 2020 and closed its doors a few month later after a final clearance sale. Stay tuned for what replaces it next!
