Mr. Melo, an approachable and vibey listening bar replete with compost cocktails, New Greek dishes, and great music, has opened in Williamsburg (61 Withers Street) Mr. Melo’s extensive vinyl collection has something for everyone, from the most seasoned bin shakers to those just starting to expand their listening, making it the perfect spot for audiophiles and everyday music lovers alike.
Co-owners Nikolas Vagenas and Nate Ulsh have created so-called “Compost Cocktails,” including the Baba Rita, which is made with the kitchen’s smoked eggplant skins infused in tequila, and the Feta Brine Martini, which features brine leftover from their whipped feta dip. Other libations that are available include the Staten Island Iced Tea, which combines eight Italian Aperitifs and house-made cola, and The John, which has been specifically curated to harmonize with the space and its food menu.
Meanwhile, Mr. Melo’s New Greek food menu perfectly complements their thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Offerings include such elevated yet easy bar snacks as House Made Potato Chips and Dip, Smoked Mussel Toast, a Crispy Eggplant Sando, and Drunk Greek Fries.
