Peasant Wine Bar to offer talks with Wine Connoisseurs

Vino Viaggio (Wine Travels), from Peasant Wine Bar, the recently opened candle-lit space that reimagines the wine cellar of the 22-year-old NoLita wood-fired destination, Peasant.

To provide an opportunity to learn about Italy’s historical wine regions, guest sommeliers, beverage professionals and friends of Peasant will join Beverage Director Scott Woltz and take over the wine bar for one night only to showcase wines from select Italian regions.

Upcoming guests include:

Bobby Stuckey – Master Sommelier and owner of Frasca Food & Wine, Pizzeria Locale, Scarpetta Wine Company on Thursday, June 9th. The region of focus will be Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Bobby will be signing copies of his book, Friuli Food and Wine: Frasca Cooking from Northern Italy's Mountains, Vineyards, and Seaside.

Joe Campanale – author, restaurateur and owner of Fausto and LaLou on Tuesday, July 19th. The region of focus will be Abruzzo and Joe will be signing copies of his recently released book, Vino: The Essential Guide to Real Italian Wine.

Jeff Porter – Founder of Jeff Porter Selections, seasoned sommelier, wine educator, and former Beverage Operations Director for Bastianich Hospitality Group in August (exact date TBD). The region of focus will be Tuscany.

Wines selected by each visiting guest will be available by the glass or in a sampling flight of five. Additionally, a la carte items will be available from Peasant’s dinner menu upstairs like Wood Roasted Oysters, Piedmontese Steak Tartare, Pizza Picante, Bucatini Carbonara and Suckling Pig. Reservations are available on Resy and walk-ins are welcome.
