The French Riviera is the inspiration behind the latest iteration of Claudette, now featuring coastal cuisine in the heart of Greenwich Village. Chef Partner Edwin Rivera reimagining the menu influenced by the simplicity of fresh seafood and French classics.
The meal begins Tuna Carpaccio with crispy capers and lemon olive oil or Snapper Ceviche spiked with chillies and red onion. There are Crispy Artichokes, Grilled Octopus, and Burrata with grilled peaches. Larger plates bring branzino, prawns and whole fish grilled simply with choice of spicy confit tomato tapenade or sauce verte. Strip Steak au poivre, Roast Sasso chicken with cast iron croutons, and Bouillabaisse with sea bass, prawns, clams, mussels, and lobster prepared in a tomato broth rounding out the menu.
Wine lovers will find offerings from throughout France, including Bordeaux, Rhone Valley, Burgundy and the South of France. Cocktails include the Champs de Lavande with rye, lemon and lavender, and the Le Pied-á-Terre with coganc, rhubarb liqueur and lemon.
Inspired by the carefree glamour of the lively bistros found on the beaches of the Riviera in the 1960s, the space recreates that seaside vibe with blues and yellows weaved throughout the space along with elegant lighting and cushy banquettes. Poster from art exhibitions also reflect the time period.
Claudette is located at 24 Fifth Ave, New York, NY. For more information, visit claudettenyc.com
