Molyvos, known for its lively Greek cuisine, is moving to the former Esca space on the corner of West 43rd Street and Ninth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen. Work is already underway, as is the request for a liquor license. The Molyvos website confirms the move, writing:
“The Livanos Family is very excited to have the opportunity to continue the legacy of Molyvos Restaurant in its new Midtown West location. The space on West 43rd Street, was the former home to Esca, a restaurant we frequented and loved, so this was a serendipitous find. Molyvos is our hometown in Greece and continuing the namesake of our dad’s place of birth could not be more thrilling for us. We look forward to welcoming our existing clientele, making new friends and to creating more memories!”
The Livanos family also operates Oceana near Rockefeller Center. No exact date given for the opening. Stay tuned!
