Toronto’s splashy Mediterranean snack and cocktail bar, Reyna, now has a home near Union Square. Led by industry veteran Nicki Laborie, Reyna serves as a gathering space for food and drinks with a fun, energetic vibe which Laborie calls a “labor of love.”

A large marble bar with teal seating sets the tone for space with gilded arches and feather lamps above. Rose, teal and gold tones give the space a sexy vibe with an intimate dining area found in the back of the restaurant.

Visitors will discover small sharable plates to snack on with a cocktail or settle into a cozy, rose-colored banquette for a full meal. Chef Andrew Lott is serving up Spanish, Greek, Italian and Arabic dishes rooted in bold, Mediterranean flavors. They include Lebanese “Tacos” on housemade flatbreads with choice of chicken or falafel; Lamb Baklava with kataifi, burnt honey saffron aioli and pistachio; and Manchego and Cauliflower Croquettes with Spanish aioli.

There are seafood towers brimming with oysters, shrimp, king crab, and lobster with muhammara cocktail sauce; Paella for the table with shrimp, mussels, clams, octopus, chicken, and peas; Chargrilled Octopus with romesco, fried capers, shishito peppers, and lemon; Turkish Manti with lamb, tomato, garlic, and yogurt; among others.

Reyna’s royal inspired bar program offers a clever twist on classic cocktails with names like Please Sir, Some Meaux, Eleanor’s Mistress, and Bored in Buckingham made with duck fat-washed double oaked Woodford bourbon, plum liqueur, and absinthe soaked rosemary.

Early next year, Reyna will debut its intimate cocktail lounge called Le Louis, offering New Yorkers a new, sultry setting to enjoy unique cocktails, light bites and vibey music.

Reyna is located at 11 East 13th Street, New York, NY
