Salt & Straw is launching its “Halloween” Series from September 27th through the month of October. To celebrate this launch, Salt & Straw is collaborating with New York City restaurant, Wildair, as part of pastry chef Fabian von Hauske’s “Donuts With Friends” series.
Available on Saturday, October 5th at Wildair [142 Orchard St], von Hauske will be serving a donut inspired by The Great Candycopia flavor in the ‘Halloween’ Series. The donut is filled with butterscotch cream, dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with Salt & Straw homemade candies (snickers, reese, kit kat, health).
Here’s a glimpse of some of the other thrilling flavors from the Halloween series:
- Jack o’ Lantern Pumpkin Bread: Fall’s most comforting flavor with pumpkin-spiced ice cream, chunks of freshly baked pumpkin bread, swirls of whipped cream cheese frosting, and warming spices.
- Don Bugito's Creepy Crawly Critters: A daring flavor featuring matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and crunchy chocolate crickets from Don Bugito, challenging how we think about food.
- Essence of Ghost: A haunting blend of bone-white scotch-spiked sorbet and black licorice sorbet, returning for the first time since 2018.
- Blackberry & Masa Tamale Sherbet (v): A vegan offering inspired by the tamales of Michoacán, featuring a mix of masa coconut cream sherbet and juicy marionberry sherbet, crafted in collaboration with Paola Briseño-González, a key figure in Los Angeles’ Día de los Muertos festival.
Additionally, Salt & Straw is offering free scoops for kids under age 16 in costumes and free Pup Cups to furry friends in costume on Halloween as well as Chocolate Covered Crickets for purchase, to highlight the cult-following flavor collaboration with long-standing partner, Don Bugito.
