Brooklyn’s got a brand new reason to dress up and eat well. 6 Restaurant—a slick new New American joint at Court and Nelson Streets in Carroll Gardens—is bringing serious flavor and old-school hospitality back to the table, one curated dinner party at a time.

The star of the show? A six-seat tasting counter where diners drop $165 on an eight-course menu that’s equal parts high-end and heartfelt. But this isn’t just about foams and fancy plating. The restaurant, backed by owner Kirk Love, chef Nico Bouter (ex–Eleven Madison Park), and drinks ace Eric Torres, adds a personal twist: guests at the counter get a photo snapped mid-meal as a keepsake. No selfies needed—just good lighting and better memories.

The food isn’t messing around either. Bouter brings global chops to a Brooklyn sensibility. Think Dutch Tiger Bread, Beef Tartare with Chili Crisp, Hake with Vin Jaune and Trout Roe, and a Lamb Guiso that lands somewhere between comfort food and fine dining. Dessert? A bright Citrus Tapioca with Coconut that hits like summer in a spoon.

Beyond the tasting counter, the space offers 28 à la carte seats, including spots saved nightly for locals who want to walk in without planning ahead. It’s a small gesture with big neighborhood energy—especially for a spot rumored to sit on the site of Al Capone’s wedding reception.

On the drinks front, Torres’ menu features global wines from heavy hitters like Hirsch, Oremus, and By Farr, plus rotating local brews from Other Half and Threes Brewing. Even the zero-proof options are made in-house with care.

After sitting empty for nearly two decades, 481 Court Street finally has something worth talking about again. At 6, the food’s thoughtful, the wine’s flowing, and the vibe is just right for that long overdue dinner with friends—whether you show up as a six or fly solo.
