& Sons Buttery serves up American Hams, Cheeses and a lot more

& Sons Buttery is a wonderful little shop offering an assortment sandwiches, cheeses and charcuterie on Rogers Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Garden. Brought to you by the team behind Ham Bar, it's also the go-to spot for country hams. On any given day, you will find as many as ten varieties from hickory-smoked Benton's in Tennessee to Newsom's long-aged ham from Kentucky.

We stopped in for a sandwich made with Soppressata from Salumeria Biellese, a New York City deli known for its hand-crafted charcuterie since 1925. It arrived on two thick slices of country bread called Miche and slathered with Bobbie's Boat Sauce and Sir Kensington Mayo. It's served with gerkins and a side of chips. What a treat!

Visitors to the shop with also find an assortment of cheeses like Two Red Lines, a goat's milk cheese, from Lazy Lady Farm, Gatekeeper from Crown River Caves and Little Hosmer, a new world style brie from The Cellars. Other provisions include classic beef dogs from The Brooklyn Hot Dog Co., several types of bacon, including New Hampshire's North Country Smokehouse, chocolates from Tony’s Chocolonely, unique drinks (soft & hard) and much more.

While the Ham Bar next door remains closed to indoor dining, we’re told a pop-up is in the works and could open on a nearby side street in the not-too-distant future. Stay tuned.
