It might not seem possible but the goings-on in “Hadestown” are hotter than ever now that Broadway legend and Grammy Award winner Stephanie Mills, six-time Grammy Award nominee Yola, and television and film star Maia Reficco have joined Philip Boykin and Jordan Fisher in the acclaimed musical at the Walter Kerr. Check it out.

If the star-studded cast of “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Hudson Theatre, led by Sutton Foster, Michael Urie, and Ana Gasteyer, isn’t enticing you to see this delightful revival, maybe this contest will. A weekly “Princess Test” event series, to be held at the box office every Thursday evening two hours prior to curtain time, will allow attendees to win show tickets and other special prizes.

There’s more comings and goings over at “&Juliet” at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre; former “Waitress” star Drew Gehling takes over the pivotal role of William Shakespeare, while original cast members Betsy Wolfe, Justin David Sullivan, Ben Jackson Harper, and Phillipe Arroyo will depart in late October. Meanwhile, newcomer Maya Boyd shines in the title role, as do Tony winner Paolo Szot as Lance and Jeanette Bayardelle as Angelique.

Finally, some of the fall’s most anticipated Broadway shows are confirming their casting: Olivier Award winner and Tony nominee Laura Donnelly will lead the large ensemble of “The Hills of California,” written by her husband, Jez Butterwoth (starts September 11 at the Broadhurst); Michael Cerveris will return to Broadway after eight years to play Jerry Falwell opposite Katie Brayben and Christian Borle as Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker in the Elton John-Jake Shears tuner “Tammy Faye” (starts October 19 at the Palace); and Broadway favorites Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, Christopher Sieber and Michelle Williams (also known for her work with Destiny’s Child) will headline the stage-to-screen adaptation of “Death Becomes Her” (starts October 23 at the Lunt-Fontanne).
