Noble 33, a global hospitality group behind such popular restaurants as Toca Madera, Casa Madera, and Sparrow Italia, is expanding its reach to the East Coast with the opening of Meduza Mediterrania. The upscale, high-energy dining experience is located adjacent to the newly renovated Gansevoort Hotel in the space that previously housed Provocateur.

Designed by Noble 33’s award-winning, in-house design firm, Monochrome Concept, the sprawling space features 245 indoor and outdoor seats with a 30-person circular bar and three dining rooms, including a mezzanine private dining space and a lush greenscaped, glass-enclosed atrium. Guests are greeted by a custom carved wood installation by artist Etienne Moyat positioned along the atrium’s wall-to-wall banquette and oversized textured lighting fixtures. Patrons are given a view of the kitchen through large-framed smoked glass windows.

Executive Chef AJ McCloud is focusing on bold and inventive eastern Mediterranean flavors inspired by different destinations within the region. Highlights include Tsukune with jidori chicken meatball, ginger scallion, panko, and tare; Lamb chop with tabbouleh and Israeli schug; Wagyu Kafta with tomato, roasted garlic, basil, and shaved parmesan; and Grilled Branzino with lemon, extra virgin olive oil, and fine herbs.

Beverage Director Carla Lorenzo presents a sophisticated and approachable cocktail and zero-proof beverage menu centered on fresh ingredients like citrus, cardamom, figs, and honey.

Standouts include the refreshing Watermelon Fresko, a liquid reinvention of the Greek salad with gin, verjus, lemon, dried tomato liqueur, cucumber, watermelon, and basil garnished with a tomato-basil-watermelon trio; and the Garden of Eden, a shareable cocktail in which you create your own spritz with a garden-inspired spirit infusion served alongside an interactive garnish tray.

To end your meal, indulge in Meduza’s Tiramisu Martini a playful spin on an espresso martini with lady finger-infused vodka or reposado, espresso, borghetti, amaro, orgeat, spiced demerara, and garnished with tiramisu foam and italian chocolate. It pairs well with desserts like Wild Berry Friand with mixed berries, cherry and almond.

Meduza Mediterrania is located at 657 Hudson St, New York, NY. For more information, visit meduza33.com
