From the team behind Catch comes The Corner Store, a new spot in SoHo at 475 West Broadway offering playful takes on American classics and innovative cocktails. Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Paul Castro formerly of Catch New York and Nobu. Designed by the Rockwell Group, the warm space offers a nostalgic feel inspired by old-school New York dining.

The Corner Store’s menu is also a bit nostalgic with dishes such as Spinach & Artichoke Dip with bechamel, aged white cheddar and parmesan served with house-cut tortilla chips; Wagyu Pastrami Reuben bites made with Orwasher’s Rye bread, mustard, and housemade pastrami; and Five-Cheese Pizza Rolls that pay homage to the childhood snack with Calabrian chili hot honey, marinara, jalapeños, pepperoni, and Sicilian oregano.

A portion of the menu is also dedicated to steak. Look for a Wagyu French Dip with house-baked bread, prime rib, au jus, and horseradish; Steak Au Poivre with Allen Brothers NY Strip; and Disco Steak Frites, an elevated rendition of the classic diner-style disco fries with Allen Brothers skirt steak and hand-cut, triple-blanched French fries drizzled with au poivre and peppercorn aioli.

Other options include Ricotta Ravioli with housemade pasta and Lionelli ricotta; Lobster Frites, a two-pound Maine lobster with garlic-lemon butter, and hand-cut French fries; and Chicken Paillard with plancha-grilled mustard-marinated chicken, crushed olive vinaigrette, roasted peppers, fennel, and greens.

Desserts bring a rotating list of Soft Service Ice Cream Sundaes with flavors like Cracker Jack, Black Forest Cake, and Leggo My Eggo Maple, as well as Apple Hand Pies with honeycrisp and granny smith apples wrapped in a flakey buttery shortbread crust, served with a dixie cup of vanilla ice cream with a spiced caramel swirl.

The drink menu is centered around martinis led by Oli’s Dirty Martini with housemade vermouth-based brine, olive-oil washed vodka, and white vermouth; Tuxedo No. 2 Martini with gin, Dolin Blanc vermouth, Noilly Prat, lemon, and absinthe; and the Tomato Martini with housemade tomato water infused with celery, horseradish, and jalapeno, and savory vermouths including one with koseret, garnished with pickled cherry tomatoes and basil oil.

The Corner Store is also serving cocktails prepared using a variety of culinary techniques including infusion, cryovac, sous vide, milk washing, and oil washing. Drinks include The Garden, a take on a spritz with Cocchi Americano, sherry, mint, cucumber, lemon, grapefruit, and sparkling water; Lieutenant Crunch’s Milk Punch with vodka, tequila, Amontillado Sherry, Minu 8 Maple Verjus, and Cap’n Crunch cereal milk; and Pornstar Royale with vodka, sherry, passion fruit, vanilla, lime, and champagne, with a frothy egg white topper.

As guests enter the restaurant they are immediately greeted by a stylish grand bar with green onyx top and elegantly fluted wood panels. Behind the bar, an antique mirror serves as the backdrop, adorned with drawings of "Oli," The Corner Store’s signature ‘martini man’ character.

A candy-striped upholstered booth divides the space between the bar and the first of the two dining areas. The center dining room has a vintage feel with chevron wood floors and plush green banquettes. The main dining room is lined with tufted leather banquettes and custom lamps with linen shades. There are two large skylights draped with large striped curtains, and a curated collection of vintage New York City photography.

Off of the dining room is a 50-seat enclosed glass patio for warmer months, with custom armchairs, branded bistro enamel table tops, and lush greenery. For more information, visit thecornerstoresoho.com
