The Mermaid Inn has opened its fourth and largest location eve on West 43rd Street in Manhattan in the heart of the Theatre District. A beaming neon mermaid leads the way to the Mermaid Oyster Bar while the maritime theme carries into the inside.

Owners Danny Abrams and Cindy Smith have partnered with Alicart Restaurant Group, which is the force behind well-known restaurants like Carmine’s and Virgil’s BBQ. The new restaurant spans more than 15,000 square feet, seating up to 550 guests. The space also features two bars and five private dining rooms.

Visitors can expect to find the Mermaid Inn’s signature dishes such as its “Nearly Famous” Lobster Roll and its wildly popular oyster happy hour (4-5:30pm daily). Chef Michael Cressotti and his culinary team are also offering dishes like yellowtail Ceviche with yuzu, pink grapefruit, ancho chili and toasted garlic; Lobster “Knuckles” Escargot with parsley garlic butter and grilled country bread; Mermaid Fish Tacos, a 14-Ounce New York Strip Steak, Linguine and Clams, and Whole Maine Lobster.

There is also a selection of East and West Coast oysters, along with seafood towers, including the Great Grand Platter with a selection of oysters, clams, tuna crudo, jumbo shrimp, whole Jonah crab and Maine lobster for just under $200 dollars. When we stopped by for a looksee the place was already drawing a lively crowd.
