Time may be running out for the old Fort Hamilton Post Office in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

Some of the ornate terra cotta siding of this grand old structure has already been brick-faced over on the 87th Street side of the building, as scaffolding goes up on the front of the building. Large chunks of terra cotta can be seen missing from the front. This bulding really needs to be protected, but it doesn't look like anyone is minding the fort.
