Two Iconic Brands Join Forces for Summer Ice Cream Delights

“I scream. You scream. We all scream for ice cream.” Those famous words ring true at Morgenstern’s, were the iconic ice cream shop and Lower East Side legend, Russ & Daughters, have just released three packaged ice cream treats. One is a Sesame Bagel Ice Cream Sandwich. The second is a Chocolate Babka Ice Cream Pop, while the third is a Halvah 5-Layer Ice Cream Bar.
During our visit two were sold out, but we were able to get sour hands on the Halvah Bar which comes in a nifty container that resembles a toothpaste box with the Russ & Daughters blue fish logo on each side. But there’s nothing fishy about this treat.

The bar, which resembles a chocolate brick, is a one inch square about six inches long. It is wrapped in a thick layer of deep dark chocolate. Take a bite and it reveals delicious layers of halvah and vanilla ice cream with a thick band of chocolate syrup down the center. It really is worth the wait on what turned out to be a considerably long line. Each of the ice cream treats sell for $8 and are available at Morganstern's and Russ & Daughters. Just take our advice and get there early if you want to snag one of these truly New York City treats.
