Palma Verde and Circo are now welcoming guests to 1604 Broadway, once the home of the New York version of the Grand Ole Opry.

Circo is a restaurant and lounge located on the second and third floors with a large bar and café seating with a massive balcony soaring overhead. The space has a clubby feel and is expected to showcase live music. The menu has a Latin feel with dishes like Arrozz con Mariscos with lobster, shrimp, pulp, mussels and clams. Smaller plates bring Bacalao Croquettes and Argentinian Oysters Rockefeller and three types of ceviches. We’re told to expect live music once things get fully underway.

On the fourth floor is Palma Verde, an all-day restaurant and bar with specialty cocktails and bar bites, including several affordable options like The Cubano sandwich with hand-cut fries, a Double Smash Burger and B.L.T.

Other offerings include Lobster Mac’ Croquettes, Braised Short Ribs, Grilled Branzino, and Marinated Skirt Steak Frites. One dish we’d like to try is the Thanksgiving Everyday with Rotisserie Turkey Breast, roasted garlic potato puree, orange cranberry relish and gravy.

The massive space is divided into two distinct tropical themed dining areas set apart by huge columns. The New York Post first reported that nightlife veterans Paul Brown and Pedro Zamora are behind the $4 million venture.
