Urban Bush Women to Celebrate 40th Anniversary at Lincoln Center

World-renowned dance company Urban Bush Women is celebrating their 40th Anniversary with a week-long series at Lincoln Center, starting on July 26, as part of Lincoln Center’s “Summer for the City” series.
Some highlights of the week include “Dance for Every Body, an empowering movement jam/dance class for all bodies, abilities, and levels; “How We Got to the Funk,” a performative workshop led by Urban Bush Women's founder Jawole Willa Jo Zollar which examines African American social dances from 1955 through the 1970s; the Lincoln Center premiere of “Haint Blue,” a site-responsive ensemble dance-theater work; and “Mindful Bodies & Reflective Practices”, a workshop focusing on self-care and rejuvenation.
