Theatre district mainstay The West Bank Café, which is also home to cabaret club The Laurie Beechman Theatre, is trying to raise enough funds to pay off its 2020 debt, incurred solely from the pandemic, and pay West Bank's rent for 2021 to give them time to get back on their feet.
In addition to a GoFundMe campaign (https://gf.me/u/zcf2fw), a group of over 100 artists will participate in “The Save West Bank Cafe Virtual Telethon,” which will stream free of charge beginning at noon on Christmas Day.
Among the talent schedule to participate are Betty Buckley, Debra Messing, Martha Plimpton, Alice Ripley, Iain Armitage, Lewis Black, Kevin Chamberlain, Megan Hilty, Kerry Butler, Telly Lueng, Leslie Kritzer, Nick Adams, Alison Fraser, Diana DeGarmo, Ace Young, Cheri Oteri, Isaac Mizrahi, David Eigenberg, Joe Iconis, Dylan Baker and Warren Leight.
