Type of Place: Toys

Description:
Where do Molly, Kirsten, Samantha, Addy, Felicity, and Kaya, Nellie, Josefina, and all their pals go to hang out in New York City? No, I’m not talking about some oddly extended “Sex and the City” gang – and you can find a shrine to the worlds of all the girls above in one place: American Girl Place. American Girls are dolls, and each is based on s specific time period in American history – whether it’s the WWII homefront of Molly or the pioneering world of Kirsten or the colonial Virginia world of Felicity – with a series of history laden adventure books. At American Girls Place, girls are encouraged to bring their dolls, and share in a day of luxury, whether its watching the American Girls Revue (a Broadway-style show), or shopping for clothes and accessories – many of which are available in matching doll and child sized versions. And there are special treats for girls (yummy treats at the Café) and dolls (getting a new dolly – ‘do at the Doll Hair Salon). American Girl Place hosts birthday parties for girls and their accompanying dolls, and, as you can imagine, is utterly chaotic around Christmas time!
