When it comes to beauty supplies, we live in a world entranced by giant, overpriced stores like MAC, Sephora, department stores and even drug stores like Duane Reade. Some of us get our eye shadows at MAC, our eyelash curlers at Sephora and other hard-to-find hair products at drugstores. But close your eyes, and imagine if there were a one-stop-shop that sold all of these items – and at lower prices. Now, open your eyes; and welcome to Beauty 35. On the outside, the shop appears a bit frazzled and perhaps overstocked with merchandise. But walk inside, and all of the pieces fall together into one amazingly shelved go-to for everything you need to look and feel your best, with a customer service staff to help you along the way.
Beauty 35 carries shampoos, accessories, dyes and bleach, nail polish, crazy contact lenses, make-up, a massive collection of wigs, and too much more to list here. The brands carried by Beauty 35 are shocking to some, as previously shoppers though the only way to procure these items was to go scrambling through the “big” stores and then dish out their high prices. But Beauty 35 shelves brands like Orly, OPI, Essie, and other brands you may not even be able to find elsewhere (even at Ricky’s). Price wise, Essie nail polish costs $6 vs. drugstore prices at $8, and NYX occupies a few B35 shelves with close to 100 nail polish colors at just .99 a piece!
What’s super about Beauty 35 is that they cater to all sorts of hair types and needs including ethnic hair products and natural or organic goods, too. Especially for ethnic products like hair relaxers, wigs and weaves, many beauty-seekers complain that they have to travel to the outer boroughs to find what they are looking for. No more: Beauty 35 has it all.
And don’t forget – you can do more than just buy here. You can make an afternoon of it with a wig trimming, a hair coloring or haircut and blow dry – or maybe just a makeover. I bet you can’t get that at Duane Reade.
