Description:

A top-notch, irresistable NYC clothing boutique teeming with the hottest trends in the way of men and women’s clothing and accessories, customer service with a bit of aloofness but willing to help once you break down their obligatory NYC “holier-than-thou” demeanor, and get this: sneakers! And by sneakers, I mean brands that are so popular they have sold out across the globe, yet Blue & Cream manages to maintain an inventory of kicks that you will not be able to find elsewhere.

What also sets B& C apart from competing boutiques is their celebrity clientele. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself browsing for that perfect cocktail dress alongside stars like Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz and Sheryl Crowe. Among other stars, these women are known to frequent B & C, particularly due to the fact that there are items here exclusive to the store and that cannot be located anywhere else on the planet!

You’ll find super brands here including Helmut Lang, Yigal Asrouel, 3.1 Philip Lim, ALC, Rag & Bone, NIKE and others. Prices at Blue & Cream are mid to high-end; and beware: the store offers only store credit for returns, so if you buy a piece here, make sure you have a couple back-ups to turn to should that piece disappoint you when you try it on at home.

For instance, about a year ago I purchased the "Kearny dress" by A.L.C.at $495. The silk dress resembled a striped button down dress shirt with a drawstring waist and cuffed side patch pockets to add to the flowy feel of the piece. In the dressing room, it looked superb. At home, however, I couldn’t get the drawstring to fit my petite frame perfectly, and even though the dress was black, the style made it difficult for me to pair with any of my shoes

I exchanged the piece for an equally casual dress but with way more color and vibrancy: the Mara Hoffman Fitted Tank Dress ($275) featuring a kaleidoscopic, jungle-inspired print with a V-neck and adjustable straps. I am so happy with my new purchase. Now if the sun would just come out – and stay out – I may be able to flaunt this coquettish number.

Although I have never purchased sneakers at this boutique, word has it that they have some kind of an insider’s tip when it comes to NIKE varieties that are sold out everywhere. I’ve heard lots of stories from friends who, having searched long and far, finally found their Nike Roshe Run Purple QS at $150, and their Nike Dunk Ski Hi Studs (yes, the sneaker is embellished with studs!) for $250)

Blue & Cream has a little bit of everything for both the rich and famous, and the not-so-rich-and-famous. The boutique is a Hamptons-based shop, so you know you’re walking into an inventory highlighted by the utmost class. When you visit Blue & Cream, be sure to inquire about their VIP card – with it, customers enjoy a pleasurable %20 off sticker price.
