Thank goodness I am not at the age where I need functional bras as opposed to fun ones…otherwise I wouldn't have such a blast shopping at Brooklyn Fox. Nor am I a “cougar” (yet), so this frill shop is where it’s at for me. Brooklyn Fox carries a sophisticated, but playful array of lingerie for those of us who cringe at Frederick’s of Hollywood, but still want to look special now and then.
Price wise, Brooklyn Fox is what most would deem high end, but there are some good deals, if you have time to sift through the lace. And while we’re on the subject of inventory, expect to find most items fit for smaller frames, but not as skimpy as those you will find at Victoria’s Secret. Plus, their smaller goods actually tend to run a tad bigger than usual. So even if you are more “blessed” than I am, give Brooklyn Fox a go.
If you’re shy about doing this type of shopping, don’t be afraid of this boutique. The staff is comforting and quite helpful, and will find you items that adhere to the comfort level, price range, and degree of sensuality that you are looking for. And it isn’t just bras you’ll find in Fox's dimly lit, all-white, small den. Here you’ll also find slips, nighties, stockings, swimwear, corsets, sheer blouses, other undergarments and more. I am not up-to-speed on brand names when it comes to this type of garb, but through the delicate grapevine of the industry, I hear that the fact they carry pieces from Badgley Mischka, Simone Perele and AnnFlor Sangana is a very clever move.
Prices at Brooklyn Fox are on the high end, but the quality, service, and lack of lewdness is well worth the money you will spend here. Bodysuits can range anywhere from $115 - $150, while bras can run in the $50’s all the way up to over $100. Speaking of which, I did try on a jet black Sarrieri Hidden Padded Half Bra for $190 just for kicks and ended up splurging on a Cosabella NSN Flirtie Bandeau Bra for $52. (I needed a black, strapless number to go along with a dress I bought to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday.) For the lower half, you’ll find an array of suggestive goods ranging from $28 all the way to about $60, which in my little black book is not too pricey at all – plus you can choose from bikini to briefs to boy and girl shorts, tangas and more.
If you’re not yet a “cougar”, want to feel feminine and luxurious - not lascivious - step into the lace laden world of Brooklyn Fox and I’m sure you’ll find a number that will fit both your body and your budget.
