Neighborhood: West Village
Type of Place: NYC Restaurants

Description:
Burrito Loco is where all are welcome to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine on two levels. The newly renovated upstairs is a comfortable restaurant suitable for dates or family dining with exposed brick walls, a new bar, beautiful new wood tables inlaid with ceramic tiles and colorful stained glass windows, while downstairs is an exciting party atmosphere with loud music, screenings of black and white Mexican cowboy films, vintage Mexican photos and Mexican artifacts like horse saddles and wooden yokes.

Upstairs or down, the party begins with fabulous margaritas, straight up, on the rocks, or best of all, frozen, all made to order with your choice of one of more than 20 top-shelf tequilas. The bartenders at Burrito Loco are well educated about all the different kinds of tequila and are expert at making a well-balanced cocktail – not too sweet, not too tart. Or you might want to order up a pitcher of red or white sangria prepared with fresh fruit, or one of the intriguing shooters (Orgasmo anyone?). Of course, there’s also a selection of beer and wine.   - Jay Patel 8/13/07
