Description:
One of the more popular divorces in the fashion world in recent history has resulted in a vibrantly colorful Hampton’s inspired shop by Chris Burch, Tory Burch’s ex-husband. However, the drama didn’t end there. Tory filed a lawsuit upon the launch of C. Wonder, Chris Burch’s latest retail venture, deeming it to be a copycat brand. All is settled now, although the after effects were clear during a recent visit to SoHo’s C. Wonder, as told by the remodeling and de-copycatting.
The Spring Street shop draws in crowds who line up to monogram anything from lime green button downs to pink scarves, as well as to purchase bright and cheery additions for their home. The monogramming is done in store and adds a touch of personalization to beautiful pieces with detailed patterns that are paired with an interesting color palette.
Apart from C. Wonder’s women’s clothing selection, with preppy day-wear suited for a polo match and mimosa soaked brunches, the store also features funky pieces such as neon city bikes, cake pop makers, and tech accessories, including pop phone handsets and bullhorn iPad speakers.
The back of the SoHo shop hosts a range of home décor items with the likes of patterned tea sets, fun throw pillows, and monogramed kitchen wear. Although the prices are surprisingly fair and do-able, don’t pass up the sale section, which featured everything from clothing to décor pieces for roughly 50% off each piece.
