Capitol Fishing Tackle is a fisherman's dream. The company's been in existence for more than 100 years and more than 35 years at its current location.
My visit to Capitol also introduced me to Moe, who's been fly fishing for 40 years, and who filled me in on what's hot with today's fishermen!
When it comes to fly fishing, Moe says
the most popular reel on the market is the Redington in the $200 range. Then there are the Penn and Islander brands priced between $250-$500. For saltwater, top of the line, according to Moe, is the Islander priced at $1,250, followed by the Van Staal at around $500 and Shimano priced from $200 to $650.
Capitol Fishing also has thousands of hooks, flies and lures to choose from.They also have a wide selection of rods with names like Penn, Daiwa, Redington & St. Croix for saltwater... and the Redington, Thomas & Thomas, Loomis and St. Croix for fly fishing.
