The life and death of legendary American writer Edgar Allan Poe are shrouded in mystery, but one thing is certain: Poe spent the last years of his life at his beloved cottage in the Bronx, caring for his ailing wife and finding inspiration in the places and people surrounding him. Poe Cottage, an American landmark, was Poe’s home from 1846 until his death on October 7, 1849.
Poe Cottage is open to the public Saturdays, 10am - 4pm; Sunday, 1pm - 5pm. Groups tours are also available by appointment. Admission Adults $5; Seniors, Students, & Children $3.
