A Lower East Side hybrid space, Grit N Glory is the perfect spot to get some work done as you sip espresso and shop for distressed tees while Nirvana plays amongst the rock n’ roll ambiance.
Upon entering Grit N Glory, shoppers are greeted by antique furniture layered with vintage concert tee shirts, which are all fairly priced ($28-$60) in comparison to other downtown shops. Strolling toward the main part of the boutique, located in the rear of the long store, you pass through a handful of tall table-tops, which are the perfect size for a workspace set up (Note: they also have free WiFi access). If you are simply looking to lounge, there are comfy couches inviting shoppers to enjoy their muffin -- brought in from Chew NYC -- paired with a Stumptown coffee that you are able to purchase from the store’s small café, armed with a tattooed barista.
The remainder of the store is full of gothic themed trinkets, wiccan pentacle marked accessories, and shirts and sweatshirts by the skull marked brand, Death Traitors. Apart from the dark motif, Grit N Glory also offers Nirvana muscle tees ($50), Americano button ups ($70), and fun home décor items for the edgier aesthetic.
