Description:

The quirky micro-chain-store In God We Trust, from designer Shana Tabor, is the perfect miniature museum of funky finds on Lafayette Street to pass a few minutes in. Geared toward the literary and Brooklyn set of New Yorkers, the SoHo branch of In God We Trust offers a fun display of knick-knacks and hipster wear mixed with unique antiques and…taxidermy animals.

Vintage suitcases, matchbooks, silver flasks, cuff links, Crosley record players, wool socks, and artisanal perfumes are just some of the items you will enjoy mulling over in this funky boutique. The cool librarian-esque clothing mainly comes from the store’s self-titled line. The Silk Jordyn Top, a sleeveless and cropped button down, costs $200, while their Tan Boardwalk Shorts run for $160, and the Georgette High Tide Skirt is $200 as well.

Fortunately, there was a nice selection of 50% off items for later wear, like their long-sleeved navy blue Sadie Dress for $125, marked down from $250. Be sure to also browse their eccentric collection of jewelry, especially such necklaces as the heart shaped Best (F-word) Friends Necklace Set in gold ($600) or brass ($220), Tooth Necklace ($140), and Horse Head Necklace ($140).

In God We Trust is the perfect blend of old and new, curated for those who appreciate tasteful, fun style and a talented artistic eye. The Brooklyn branches are just as worthy, and frequently host sale events for their artists and writer friends who survive by pinching pennies.
