Description:
I stumbled upon JD Pottery while making a
stop at a street fair on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and was immediately struck by
the quality of the work.

The pottery, imported from Japan, comes in numerous shapes and sizes, from the soy sauce bowl seen here with a tiny blue crab in its center to "autumn bamboo " sushi dishes.
You'll be pleasantly surprised by the large assortment and cost with most pieces running $5 or less.

The pottery also comes in a wide array of colors from the Iwa-Shimizu which features several earthen tones to the bright cobalt blue bowls we spotted and plates covered in a plum crackle glaze that starts out faintly around the edges and deepens until it's a dark purple.

The shop's website, JPottery.com, features a good deal of their products, but not all and also gives locations of street fairs they'll be attending. Definately one for your shopping cart.   - Shopper Sam
