Description:
Orchard Beach opened to the public in 1936.
The crescent shaped beach was one of the many projects completed by Robert Moses. The beach located on the Long Island Sound is sometimes referred to as the "Bronx Riviera." Its calm waters make it perfect for kayaking and canoeing.

Orchard Beach, located in Pelham Bay Park, is also host to summer concerts.

The beach is open to the public free of charge. New York City beaches open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 10am-6pm daily. Swimming is prohibited during all other hours.
