True NY fashionistas know that Pookie and Sebastian is
like old faithful when it comes to trendy clothes and
accessories. Pookie always has the latest and cutest
outfits, whether it be Rock and Republic jeans
($172+), Seven jeans (140+), big gold hoop earrings
($60+), long, chunky bead necklaces in gold ($35+)
that go well with the most simple tank top, and of
course the wide range of halter tops, tube tops and
lacey camisoles ($28+). Pookie also has a limited
selection of purses (check locations), shoes ($100+)
and belts ($78).
If you see something and you love it, buy it, because
it may not be there tomorrow. They have limited sizes
available in some styles like novelty tops, cocktail
dresses and skirts. There's also a very high
turnover--you may see one style there one day, and something totally different the next!
Go there on a Saturday and be prepared to fight with
feisty young women over items, wait in line for a
dressing room and beg for attention from sales people
since it's always crowded. Weeknights are typically
slower, and the sales people are able to practically
be like personal shoppers. They are very helpful,
honest and not pushy.
However, ladies while you look trendy and sexy in your
new Pookie and Sebastian outfit on a night out in
the Meatpacking District, be prepared that you may run
into women wearing the same exact thing!
