Reception Bar, a new spot for Korean cocktails and elixirs, is now open on Orchard Street on the Lower East Side. Restaurateur Katie Rue is teaming up with industry veteran Sergio Dimoff (of SoHo House and The Four Seasons) to create drinks showcasing Korean spirits. They include the Matcha Meadow with matcha-infused soju, Korean pear shrub and sparkling jasmine; the Lotus Breeze with lotus-infused soju, sparkling chrysanthemum and green plum syrup: and Choco Bap made with soju, chestnut and dark chocolate shavings. An assortment of non-alcoholic elixirs are also available with names like Buckwheat Bubbly and Aphrodite's Milk. The sexy space is meant to evoke an abstract Korean Garden. A circular bar serves as the focal point with traditional Korean and American elements.
