You might not expect to find a scuba shop on the East Side of Manhattan, but that's exactly where you'll find Scuba Network. In fact there are two locations in the city (also 655 6th Ave. 20/21 St.).
Scuba network offers both classes and scuba trips to help you start diving and complete the certification process. Classroom sessions includes lectures, breathing lessons (in a pool) and open water dives. A three-day "Express Course" runs $249 and can be completed in one weekend.
For experienced divers, Scuba Network is also a valuable resource where you can find scuba masks ($12.95-$57.50), snorkels ($14.95-$29.95) and scuba fins and booties ($19.95-$169.00). The shop also carries regulators, gauges, dive lights and other scuba gear.
