Description:
With a misleading name the Spring Lounge is anything but a lounge in a city of pretentious candle lit, velvet roped establishments. You will find no couches to lounge in at this bar, only wood tables and stools, but no one seems to mind. There are always a variety of beers on tap and a great juke box playing classic tunes until the lights go on after last call. The Spring Lounge is a great bar for a low-key night out with friends. Weekends do get a little crowded, weekdays are even better and the drinks are the right price in a city where a $10 drink has become the norm. The tavern has a rich history dating back to Prohibition and sharks hanging from the ceiling lend the bar a nickname of Shark Bar. Also note that the bar begins serving at 8am, although I can not personally vouch for this as that is a little early even for a mimosa. The bar has a great location on Spring and the corner of Mulberry with expansive glass windows for people watching. The next time you are in the area stop by for a pint and you may end up finding a new neighborhood favorite. Cheers!   - Jennifer Voit
