What Goes Around Comes Around
Neighborhood: East Village
Type of Place: Women's Clothing
Description:
What may very well be the pop-up outlet here to stay, the discounted branch of What Goes Around Comes Around at Astor Place started as a sample sale in fall 2012 and stuck around to continue to offer great deals on vintage goods.
The store’s SoHo counterpart is noted for its amazing vintage selection yet steep prices therefor this East Village shop is the perfect compromise. This What Goes Around Comes Around still offers the same hard-to-find concert tees as it’s SoHo relative, but in a smaller and more affordable selection (aside from those price tags that reach $300).
Among other selections in the large, rustic pop-up outlet include a neat collection of racks that feature vintage plaid shirts for mainly $15, worn in leather jackets for around $350, graphic tees for as low as $5, and women’s dresses.
Don’t miss their collection of studded Converse sneakers for $125 and their fun jackets, such as a shearling vintage cape for $440.
Once you work your way through the vests, dresses, button downs and tees, you’ll find seated in the back of the long room a collection of bins, where all items are just $5. If you have some time to spare, start sifting through these, as some great vintage goodies can certainly be unearthed with a little patience.
The only downside to an outlet such as this is damaged merchandise. Although it adds to the edgy, worn out look of the piece, some tees, dresses, shirts, etc. have some drastic stains and/or flaws, which may not be immediately noticeable. Be sure to inspect your items before purchasing.
Even if you don’t find something for you within the What Goes Around Comes Around pop-up outlet, browsing through the funky antiques scattered throughout the store for decoration can make up for an unsuccessful shopping trip.
