"kid o" has great gifts that every child could love. And better yet, at this store they'll also learn. The shop specializes in educational toys for newborns to toddlers.
On our visit, we found a great selection of wooden toys. A Louise Caterpillar pull toy sells for $55. There are also little finger puppets for $16 and a large selection of Montessori toys that are known to stimulate your child's brain, although they can be a bit pricey.
But you won't have to spend big for everything. A great miniature neon blue ant farm called the "Antquarium" ($25) includes a gel that also serves as food in a self contained environment. There are also plants that grow in gel and a suction cup cricket that pops when you least expect it. Soft little booties and mittens by Makie sell for $28. "kid o" also had one thing that I remember when I was a kid, an original Colorform set. I didn't even know the company was still in business. New parents can also pick up a Baby Owner's Manual for under $16.
Needless to say, we think you'll have as much fun exploring "kid o" as we did and your child will thank you too! - Sam Sayegh
