NYC Restaurants

From the folks behind Cafe Clover and Clover Grocery, comes American Bar (33 Greenwich) in the West Village. The 70-seat restaurant features lush green banquettes, imported rattan chairs from Italy and an 18-seat terrazzo bar offering an assortment of martinis, bellinis and more. As for the food, visitors can expect modern American and Continental classics with ingredients sourced from such places as Saxelby Cheesemongers, Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co., Happy Valley Meats and Pointy Snout Caviar. Chef Santos-Neves’ menu begins her take on Spinach Artichoke Dip, Whole Steamed Artichoke and crispy Calamari.  Main courses include a Grass Fed Burger with American and Vault 5 cheddar, onion jam, and mayonnaise; Panko Chicken Schnitzel with sour cream and onion mashed potatoes; Newport Steak featuring a special cut from Pino’s Prime Meat Market; and Chicken Pot Pie for Two. There are sandwiches and late nite snacks like Pigs in a Blanket and Swifty's Millionaire Bacon.  Among the desserts, a Tower Bar Ice Cream Sundae. >>
