This is a true neighborhood joint: most of the people who stop in are regulars, and you'll see elderly couples addressing longtime staff members by name. While some complain about the recent price hikes, you'll find homey diner food and a great atmosphere here, and for Manhattan, even the new prices aren't that bad.

The menu goes on for pages, but go straight for the Greek specials like the Greek salad, souvlaki or gyros, as it's what they do best. Top the salad with grilled chicken to make it more of a meal; if you go for the large, you'll have a hard time finishing the giant bowl of vegetables! The grape leaves are very tasty and come with the salad, but you can also order a side of them to accompany another choice.
