The Bao empire just got bigger. This time the focus is on barbecue and noodle dishes at its new spot, BaoBQ, in the East Village. On the barbecue side, look for dishes like Thai Style rotisserie chicken or grilled spicy Vietnamese chicken. Half a bird runs seven bucks; $12 for a whole bird. There are also thin-sliced barbecue pork chops, and Banh Mi sandwiches made with BBQ chicken livers and rotisserie chicken. On the noodle side, there is Bun Cha Ca ($9), a cat fish satay with vermicelli noodles and herbs. The menu also features a spicy pork/shrimp noodle soup ($9), and pork meatballs and noodles served with pickled papaya ($9). Grilled specialties range from smoked pork spare ribs (Korean-style) to charred cuttlefish and a pork belly satay in a lettuce wrap. You'll also find BBQ chicken wings ($7) marinated in fish sauce, palm sugar and a homemade hot sauce. Now that sounds finger-lickin' good! - Thomas Rafael
