Bourbon Steak is award-winning chef and restaurateur Michael Mina’s modern take on the quintessential American steakhouse. Featuring the finest cuts of premium beef and seafood, with seasonal ingredients locally sourced, Bourbon Steak New York is showcasing classic steakhouse fare with an upscale twist.

It all begins with Shellfish & Caviar delivered tableside via trolley carts visiting each table with a display of the day’s catch. Selections include Wild Shrimp Cocktail with gin-spiked cocktail sauce; Live Sea Urchin with aleppo pepper, lemon, extra virgin olive oil; and Petrossian Caviar served with crispy potatoes and cast-iron blinis.

Other offerings include Crab-Stuffed Softshell Crab, Bourbon Steak A5 Wagyu Tartare, and Mina’s famous Tuna Tartare with quail egg, pine nuts, mint, Asian pear and habanero-sesame oil that is mixed tableside. Mina invented the quintessential dish in 1991 at AQUA as a seafood riff on beef tartare, and now it is found in restaurants everywhere. In lieu of bread service, all guests receive complimentary Duck Fat Fries with pastrami spice for the table.

More than 50 cuts of steak are offered at Bourbon Steak including an 8 oz Center-Cut Filet, 20 oz Bone-In Ribeye, and 40-Day Dry-Aged 32 oz Porterhouse. Wagyu options include a unique bone-in wagyu New York strip – rarely seen at steakhouses. Seafood is also prevalent like the Phyllo Crusted Dover Sole with English pea-potato purée, horseradish mascarpone, and caviar cream; Big Eye Tuna ‘Foie-Poivre’ with a peppercorn-crusted tuna steak and roasted foie and peppercorn sauce; and Bourbon Steak’s famous Maine Lobster Pot Pie. Sides bring “Escargot” Roasted Mushrooms, Black Truffle Mac & Cheese Gratinée, and more.

Playful desserts provide a nod to the city and its history.  A Tower of Warm Beignets mimics a high-rise building and comes with a trio of dipping custards (Macallan 12-Year Butterscotch Pudding, Crème Brûlée, and a Milk Chocolate Pot De Crème). There are also Bourbon Steak Black & White ice cream sandwich bites.

More than 900 wines are featured from Napa Valley and European producers as well New York state wines, and other underrepresented parts of the world.  Classic steakhouse style cocktails include a Bourbon Steak Martini and the A5 Old Fashioned prepared tableside with Rare Character Single Barrel Bourbon with a wagyu fat wash, demerara sugar, bitters, and orange peel. Non-alcoholic options are also available.

Designed by  AvroKO, in collaboration with Stonehill Taylor, the space that is a nod to timeless American steakhouses, while weaving in Art Deco influences. Two trees under the vaulted ceiling in the main dining room evokes a courtyard experience in the back of the restaurant, amplifying the skylight.
