Details:

A taste of France in the East Village as Brasserie Saint Marc arrives on the scene. The restaurant is offering classic French and vegan fare. Large French doors allow plenty of light into the space which includes a full bar and exposed brick & stone walls. The menu begins with oysters (Blue Point, Mermaid Cove and pick of the day), little neck clams and lobster, or go for it all with the Plateau de Fruits de Mer. There is Gratinee l'Oignon, French onion soup, made with caramelized onions, beef stock, crouton and gruyere, and Salad Saint Marc with red & black quinoa, arugula, radish, spiced chickpeas, haricot vert and feta. Dig deeper and you will find French classics like Escargot, Duck Rilette, and Moules Frites (mussels with choice of mariniere, dijonnaise or saffron). Diners can also choose from a daily selection of cheeses and cured meats. For a main course, there is Steak Au Poivre, a 12oz NY strip with cracked black pepper, Poulet Roti, half red heritage chicken with roasted root vegetables, and Cote de Boeuf for two featuring a dry-aged bone-in ribeye with choice of bernaise or bordelaise sauce.  Also, check for daily specials.
