The scoop on Brooklyn Scoops. This independently owned ice cream shop in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn gets its ice cream from Kingston, New York where it is hand-crafted in small batches. Every effort is made to produce a product that is truly natural, including the milk, which comes from organic cows. No growth hormones. No additives. Just, fresh and, yes, delicious ice cream. We sampled two of the flavors: Cinnamon, which was bold and spicy, and Salted Caramel Pretzel, which had bits of crunchy pretzel dipped in chocolate throughout. Other flavors include fragrant Lavender, Hot Chocolate (spiked with cayenne), Pumpkin, Thai Coconut and many more. The shop plans to introduced 4 flavors every four months that are voted on by customers. Brooklyn Scoops is also offering ice cream by the pint, ice cream cakes and pastries from Sweet Melissa's.
