David Bouley is bringing a taste of Japan to Tribeca with Brushstroke. Chef Isao Yamada, along with a team of chefs from all over Japan, is offering two prix fixe menus. One with eight courses; another Artisanal menu with ten. Start with a farm fresh cocktail with names like Sweet Tomato made with organic vodka, house-made tomato confiture and lemon, and the Cucumber with torikai rice shochu, lime and cantaloupe. The menu features a full line of sushi, sushimi, rolls and bar food. Cooked dishes include grilled black cod in a sesame marinade with sea urchin and pistachio ($18), green tea smoked duck ($17), and seared Wagyu beef in a sesame garlic sauce ($24). Brushstroke offer three dining experiences; a formal dining room, a more casual lounge and bar seating with a full view of the open kitchen.
