Cititour Review:

Burger places are a dime a dozen in New York City. A good burger place, with juicy burgers made to order and mouth-watering crispy french fries, is a hidden treasure. The Burger Joint in the Le Parker Meridien hotel is worth discovering. The Joint as it is called by the almost cult following it has acquired offers a menu of burgers, fries and grilled cheese. Brownies are the dessert of choice and milkshakes are made at certain times of the day. The Burger Joint is tucked away in the corner of Le Parker Meridien's lobby. Do not be fooled or discouraged when you walk into the hotel and do not spot the Burger Joint. There is no secret password or special knock, but the Burger Joint is hidden. People follow a black draping curtain in the corner of the lobby to a neon burger sign which leads to the food. The place itself is small with only a few tables and booths to accommodate the crowds. The grill sits behind the counter in plain view and orders hang from a clothesline reminiscent of a 50s style diner. The Burger Joint is efficient with a steady stream of hungry people to wait on. Most afternoons by lunchtime the place is a sea of suits waiting to grab their burgers and head back to the office. If you want to try to snag a table it might be a good idea to go before noon. The walls are covered in movie posters, kids drawings and graffiti with signatures of celebrities who have enjoyed the greasy ambiance. This Burger Joint is not a myth and worth a visit to the posh midtown hotel.
